2 officers, 1 civilian shot in Texas

Armando Juarez, 29 was arrested and being held on multiple counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, Dallas Police Chief U. Reneé Hall said during a news conference.

Dallas, TX (WOLO) -the search continues for a person of interest authorities say gunned down two North Dallas Police Officers and a civilian at a Home Depot Store this evening.

The Dallas Police Department confirmed two officers and a civilian loss prevention officer, who worked at the store, were shot.

Juarez was taken into custody on Tuesday night.

Dallas police "have taken a punch and come out fighting", Mayor Mike Rawlings told a news conference.

The two police officers were called to the store to help an off-duty officer with removing the man from the store. He is believed to have left the incident driving a white pickup truck.

Juarez is to be considered and risky, Hall said, adding that it is unclear "how he was able to get a gun and shoot all three of the victims". She did not provide details of their conditions but asked for continued prayers for their recovery.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted condolences to the victims following the shooting. "Texas honors all the men and women who protect and serve our communities, and justice will be served", he wrote.

In 2016, five Dallas law enforcement officers were shot and killed and seven more injured after they were ambushed by 25-year-old former Army reservist Micah Xavier Johnson.
