Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to the newest member of the British royal family on Monday, April 23.

The Duck left the hospital, telling crowds, "I'll be back in a minute", before returning with George and Charlotte to introduce them to their new brother.

Prince George guided his little sister into the Lindo Wing by putting his hand on her shoulder as they walked down the corridor.

Not long after Princess Charlotte was hamming it up for the crowd of reporters and well-wishers, her older brother Prince George put his arm around his younger sister as if to comfort her.

While many are ecstatic at the arrival of a new royal baby, some are even more excited that Princess Charlotte has just become the first girl in history to keep her place in the line of succession after the birth of younger brother.

As she got out of the family vehicle, William whispered to her to give the waiting media a wave and she was more than eager to oblige, her face lit up by a sweet little smile. Her mother bought the clothes from the children's boutique in the Spanish northern city of San Sebastian.

Dressed in a red coat and pink scarf on her first day of school in January, she flashed a playful smile on the steps of Kensington Palace as she prepared to leave home.

News crews followed the royal family closely as they got out of the vehicle and headed up the steps to St. Mary's Hospital.

The two youngsters were on the way to meet their new little brother, accompanied by their father Prince William, when the sweet moment was captured.

Previously younger males would take precedence over older female siblings.
