VA sec. nominee praised under Obama, slandered under Trump?

He claims they are the work of Tester, the top Democrat on the Senate's Veterans Affairs committee. Jon Tester, saying he "should resign" for the part he played in causing Navy Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson to withdraw his nomination.

With the reputation of his now-withdrawn nominee for secretary of Veterans Affairs in tatters, President Donald Trump defended White House doctor and Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson against the criticism he received after allegations emerged that the physician had a history of workplace misconduct. "The Secret Service is unable to confirm (in fact they deny) any of the phony Democrat charges which have absolutely devastated the wonderful Jackson family", Trump tweeted. The Democrat says the allegations were volunteered by over 20 current and former Jackson colleagues, and the lawmaker released them this week.

"He's a courageous man, would have been a great leader", Trump said, adding that he spoke with Jackson on Friday morning and told him he was an "American hero".

"I am regretfully withdrawing my nomination to be Secretary for the Department of Veterans Affairs", Mr. Jackson said.

The White House said on Friday it had looked through records of motor vehicle incidents involving government vehicles and found only three that involved Jackson.

Trump blasted Tester for "nicknames" like the Candyman, a reference to allegations Jackson liberally handed out Ambien to staffers on planes.

President Armen Sarkissian "We Live in a New Armenia"
Levon Babayan, a 47-year-old engineer, added: "We came for them to realise that the people do not want them", he said. Pashinian has said he is prepared to be a candidate, but it is unclear if he will get support.

The White House medical unit that Jackson ran successfully passed regular controlled substance audits, according to the records for the last three years.

The official also pointed to a Secret Service statement refuting an allegation first reported by CNN that Jackson became intoxicated during an overseas trip in 2015 and banged on the hotel room door of a female employee. "A thorough review of internal documents related to all Presidential foreign travel that occurred in 2015, in addition to interviews of personnel who were present during foreign travel that occurred during the same time frame, has resulted in no information that would indicate the allegation is accurate".

In withdrawing his nomination Thursday morning, Jackson said the range of allegations made against him were "completely false and fabricated". The report alleged that he made so much noise that the Secret Service intervened out of concern he would wake then-President Obama. Prior to nominating Jackson as VA Secretary, Trump had also nominated him for promotion to two-star rank.

Jackson, who previously served presidents Obama and George W. Bush, was tapped by Trump to lead the VA after Shulkin departed March 28.

He said: "I've had it happen to me with the Russian collusion hoax".

He says that includes "some very political people" who might handle things differently.
