Trump Tower transcripts released

Rob Goldstone/Facebook Goldstone also wrote that the information "is part of Russian Federation and its government's support for Mr. Trump". Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, authorized the release of the new material following interviews or other interactions with several of the people involved with the Trump Tower meeting.

Following the publication of the documents, Trump Jr. said they showed that he "answered every question asked" by the committee.

This marks the second of four interim findings the intelligence committee has said it will publicize before tackling the more consequential question of whether Trump and his associates colluded with Russian Federation to influence the election's outcome, allegations the president has denied and sought to discredit. Dianne Feinstein, wrote in their statement.

"Their efforts to hide the meeting and its true goal are consistent with a larger pattern of false statements about the Trump campaign's relationship with Russian Federation", the statement read.

Wednesday's announcement comes amid growing Republican scrutiny of the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, whose team also is examining whether Trump's campaign coordinated with the Kremlin and if the president obstructed justice in a bid to limit the probe's scope. "I didn't want to deal with anything right now", Don Jr. told the committee.

Kushner attended the meeting, but was not interviewed by the committee.

Overall, the newly-released documents seem to indicate that a short 20-minute meeting resulted in hours of interviews and thousands of pages of documents for little reason.

Neither Kushner, now a top White House aide, nor Manafort, who has been charged with a series of financial crimes related to his work before joining the campaign, sat for interviews.

All three were deeply involved in issuing the intelligence assessment of Russian meddling in the election. Trump Jr. said he did not recall who he spoke with on that call.

That's in contrast to the House intelligence committee, which agreed with the majority of the report but said last month that the agencies "did not employ proper analytic tradecraft" while assessing Russian president Vladimir Putin's intentions.

He continued: "I've heard nothing to contradict anything from the [assessment], particularly in terms of the fact that Russians massively intervened in our elections to the goal of helping Mr. Trump and hurting Hillary Clinton".

North Korea details plans to dismantle nuclear test site this month
Experts have said the pledge to dismantle the test site is a big step forward but verifying it will be hard . North Korea has invited the outside world to witness the dismantling of its nuclear facilities before.

"[Trump] may have commented through Hope Hicks", Trump Jr. told the panel.

Trump Jr. said he didn't tell his father about the email due his skepticism about the potential value of the meeting.

Anatoli Samochornov, a Russian translator who attended the meeting, said that no one present had said the Russian government either supported Trump or opposed Clinton for president. I am on the road at the moment but perhaps I just speak to Emin first.

The congressional panel released Kaveladze's transcript from the November 2017 interview on Wednesday.

The transcripts provide a timeline of the days leading up to the meeting as well as misgivings about the appropriateness of a Russian lawyer meeting with a US presidential campaign. "I don't know about phone calls, I don't know who called who, that's why we got Mueller", said Sen.

"I am a music publicist".

An Agalarov employee testified to the committee that the Russian mogul tried to get Trump a meeting with Putin when the Miss Universe pageant, which Trump owned, was held in Moscow in 2013.

Top committee Democrat Senator Mark Warner added that "the Russian effort was extensive, sophisticated, and ordered by President Putin himself for the objective of helping Donald Trump and hurting Hillary Clinton".

It was so useless, he said, that he emailed an assistant and asked to be called on his cell phone to give him an excuse to leave. The email was sent to and apparently received by Irakly "Ike" Kaveladze, a native of the Republic of Georgia and an employee of Russian billionaire Aras Agalarov.

Kaveladze, according to the transcript, told the committee the sit-down was dominated by talk of the Magnitsky Act, the USA legislation that targets Russians for corruption and contravening banking laws.

The June 2016 Trump Tower meeting has been central to those probes.
