New York man evicted by parents leaves their home

April FrancisJun 02, 2018

Michael Rotondo officially moved out of his parents' house in Camillus around 9:30 a.m. Friday, a whole 2½ hours ahead of his court-ordered eviction deadline of noon, Syracuse.com reported.

Millennial Michael Rotondo is finally moving out of his parents' upstate NY home - thanks to conservative host Alex Jones who gave him $3,000 to help him move.

This type of family drama usually doesn't make the news, but Rotondo's parents took the unusual step of filing a lawsuit against their son to get him out of their house, where he'd been living for eight years.

"Rotondo said he called the cops because he believed his son's Legos were in the basement and his dad - who is evicting him - wouldn't let him look for them".

In other notes, they offered $1,100 to help their son find a new place to live and said they'd help fix his broken-down vehicle, which was parked on their property. He lost custody and unsupervised visitation with the boy in 2017. Rotondo says he spent the weekend getting ready to move by going to Lowe's to buy boxes for packing.

Officers arrived and the Lego bricks were found in the meantime, the newspaper said.

"I'm glad to be out of this place", Rotondo said.

The Rotondos' house in Camillus, N.Y., where Michael Rotondo, 30, was evicted at the request of his parents.

New York State Supreme Court Judge Donald Greenwood disagreed and on May 22 granted the eviction notice, with a move-out deadline of Friday.

The move caps a brief rush of celebrity for Rotondo, whose parents pleaded with him to move out and get a job and even offered him money to leave.

Earlier this week, Rotondo called 911 after an unknown person reached him on his cellphone and called him a "loser". Asked if that marks a dramatic change in his thinking, given his recent hard-fought court battle, Rotondo answered succinctly. He told the Syracuse TV station he was moving into an Airbnb and had "more or less" said goodbye to his mother and father.
