Barack Obama arrives in Kenya to launch sister’s project

Former U.S. President Barack Obama is set to make his highest-profile speech since leaving office, urging people around the world to respect human rights and other values under threat in an address marking the 100th anniversary of anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela's birth.

The 44th USA president gave props to President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga for resolving their differences without resorting to war.

At present Kenya facing issues such as tribalism and the need for better education. The government spokesman responded calling him "an inexperienced young man who could not teach Kenya how to manage its affairs".

"We wanted to appreciate Barack Obama for what he has done".

On the second and final day of his trip to Kenya, Obama spoke to members of the press at the inauguration of a youth center run by his half-sister Auma through her charity, the Sauti Kuu Foundation, in his father's home village of Kogelo in the country's southwest, Efe reported. "In fact he has developed the community through giving iron sheets for people to build their houses", he said.
