Satellite images show North Korea has begun dismantling key test site

Multiple U.S. and United Nations sanctions impose restrictions on trade with North Korea and the use of North Korean labor, potentially impacting a company's supply chain operations.

Satellite images indicate North Korea has begun dismantling key facilities at a site used to develop engines for ballistic missiles, in a first step toward fulfilling a pledge made to U.S. President Donald Trump at a June summit, a Washington-based think tank said on Monday.

In a tweet early on Monday, Trump rejected "Fake News" that he was angry because progress was not happening fast enough with North Korea.

Quoting a source with knowledge of North Korea's position, CNN said Pyonygang wants Washington to make a "bold move" and agree to a peace treaty that would replace the armistice agreement that ended the Korean War.

On Friday, senior US officials called on Kim to act on his promise to give up his nuclear weapons and said the world, including China and Russian Federation, must continued to enforce sanctions on Pyongyang until he does so.

Both Trump and his secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, have been urging patience since the President held a historic summit with Kim in Singapore last month but the President has privately expressed frustration over the perceived lack of progress in talks, a USA official told CNN.

But longtime human rights activist Suzanne Scholte, president of the Defense Forum Foundation, said she eventually came around to seeing the summit as part of a long-term process, after taking some time to adjust to the Trump-Kim meeting.

Pyongyang and Washington have technically been at war since 1950, and their relationship has been defined by decades of mistrust and failed agreements.

"We have no rush for speed". "We have no speed limit".

"Simply a photograph, of Kim with Trump, by the flag of the United States, is a major propaganda boost for the Kim regime", King said.

He said that although Trump is being tough on China, China is still "pulling North Korea back" from negotiations with the US, adding that the president needs to make sure that Beijing and Pyongyang know that he's different from everybody else.

A report in The Washington Post at the weekend said that in spite of positive assessments Trump has given on progress with North Korea, he has vented anger at aides over a lack of immediate progress. A U.S. official told CNN that Washington is expecting the return of the first group of remains on July 27, the anniversary of the signing of the armistice which paused the Korean War and established the demilitarized zone that divides the two Koreas to this day.

On Twitter, 38 North's founder, Joel Wit, said the images suggested that North Korea may be willing to "give up its space launch programme".
