Trudeau says Canadians expect 'consequences' for Khashoggi murder

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Saudi authorities staged the "worst cover-up ever" in the killing of prominent journalist Jamal Khashoggi this month.

Appearing on a discussion panel at Future Investment Initiative, the Crown Prince said, "The incident that happened is very painful, for all Saudis". And the cover-up was one of the worst in the history of cover-ups.

"Prime Minister Saad is staying in the kingdom for two days so I hope you don't spread rumours that he was kidnapped", he said during a panel discussion at the event.

Khashoggi, a former royal family insider turned critic of the Saudi crown prince, disappeared after he entered the consulate on October 2 to collect a document for his upcoming marriage.

"Even if U.S. President Trump saves (Mohammed bin) Salman, in the eyes of the world he is a questionable person with Khashoggi's blood on his hands", Cevik's column said.

Jubeir was the first senior Saudi official to speak on the record since the Saudis admitted on Saturday that Khashoggi was dead.

"Where it should have stopped is at the deal standpoint, when they thought about it", he continued. On Monday, Mr. Trump said he isn't satisfied with what he's heard from the Saudis.

This development came shortly after the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a public speech and accused Saudi Arabia of plotting journalist's murder.

The Wolverines can't move up too much, but they will have chances to do that against the Nittany Lions and Buckeyes next month. The Wolverines avoided going 3-9 against Mark Dantonio with the win and here's what we learned from the MI victory over MSU.

Since Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance more than three weeks ago, Turkish and Saudi authorities have carried out multiple searches at the Saudi consulate and consul general's residence in Istanbul.

Visa records are confidential and Mr Pompeo was not more specific about who the revocations would affect, but the State Department later said 21 "Saudi suspects" would have visas revoked or would be declared ineligible to enter the US. Erdogan said that Ankara would not allow those responsible for the killing to avoid justice.

"Covering up a savage murder like this will only hurt the human conscience".

Erdogan called on the King of Saudi Arabia for the 18 Saudi suspects linked to Khashoggi's death be tried in Istanbul.

In an interview with state-run Anadolu Agency, Mevlut Cavusoglu also said Turkey has not shared evidence concerning his death at the Saudi consulate with any country but added that there may have been "an exchange of views between intelligence organizations".

Mr Trump's criticisms of Saudi officials are his strongest so far, but he has continued to highlight the kingdom's importance as a U.S. ally.

Addressing ruling party lawmakers in parliament, Mr Erdogan used the word "murder" 15 times to describe Mr Khashoggi's death.

"I want to send them a message: They will not be able to do that as long as there is king called King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and a crown prince called Mohammed bin Salman in Saudi Arabia".
