India Test squad for Australia tour announced; Rohit, Vijay, Parthiv return

May JohnsonOct 28, 2018

Pune: India skipper Virat Kohli's 38th ODI ton went in vain as a disciplined West Indies came back strongly to win the third One-day global by 43 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium here on Saturday. The big decision was the exclusion of MS Dhoni as the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman was not named in the squad for both the series. Going by current form, it should be a walk in the park for India. His IPL team-mate Shahbaz Nadeem earned an India call-up as well, soon after a world record performance, albeit in 50-over cricket.

The decision to "rest" Dhoni might just be the first sign of selectors trying to phase out the maverick former captain in at least one format.

India have also called up Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer into their squads for both series.

"With regards to Rohit, he is a good back-foot player and his game is much suited in Australia", said Prasad.

Ronaldo replies Isco's comments about Real Madrid not missing him
Real Madrid now sits second in the group through two Champions League matches. What I can confirm is that tomorrow I'll be the coach.

"Parthiv was not picked for Afghanistan Test and subsequent England series". Little wonder then that the decision to keep him out of the upcoming T20Is against West Indies and Australia has left supporters absolutely fuming.

Meanwhile, the selection committee also announced the comeback of all-rounder Kedar Jadhav for the fourth and fifth One-day Internationals against the Windies. Virat Kohli will return to take the reins when the team begins its tour of Australia three weeks later.

For today's match, Virat Kohli made 3 changes in the team, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Khaleel Ahmed coming in.

In a necessary validation of Jasprit Bumrah's indispensability, India tackled Windies to 283/9 in the third ODI in Pune, after conceding a 300-plus score in each of the first two ODIs of the series.
