He finished the night with two points in six minutes in the 99-89 loss.

The seventh-leading scorer in National Basketball Association history with 31,187 career points, Nowitzki was listed as questionable on Monday against Atlanta for the first time this season.

"Dirk Nowitzki is finally ready to begin his record-breaking 21st season with the Mavericks", sources told ESPN.

Nowitzki came off the bench in the first quarter, and in six minutes made one shot before leaving the game.

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle added on NBA.com: "All things considered he did fine, did well. I have been running on a treadmill, which is not the same as playing National Basketball Association speed against a bunch of 20-year-old athletes".

Nowitzki, 40, was tied with Kobe Bryant at 20 seasons before making his 2018-19 debut. "This is a challenging situation for Dirk".

United States legal pot action grows as tobacco giant buys into Cronos
"When you look at the commitment that Altria makes, they're obviously looking at the sector for the next 10 to 20 years". Many US companies are working on marijuana strategies as MI becomes the tenth US state to legalize recreational pot.

Nowitzki said "the boys are playing well". It will take me probably a couple of games to get used to it, but we'll see how it goes.

Nowitzki, a 13-time All-Star who has won an NBA Most Valuable Player Award and been named NBA Finals MVP, has said he is approaching this season as if it will be his last, but he has been noncommittal about declaring that officially.

Nowitzki scored two points in 16 minutes in his National Basketball Association debut on February 5, 1999. He averaged 12 points and 5.7 rebounds coming off the bench in a high-scoring unit last season, and will reprise the same role again this year.

Among the most anticipated scenes will be the first time that Nowitki shares the floor with rookie sensation Luka Doncic.

Nowitzki will join a surging Mavericks team that has gone 8-2 in its last 10 games to reach 15-11 on the season.
