We have sad news to report from SC, where a would-be law student was abducted and killed after mistaking another man's vehicle for her Uber ride.

The 21-year-old University of SC senior hopped into a black Chevy Impala, thinking it was her ride, Columbia Police Chief W.H.

Police searched for the auto Josephson had gotten into and around 3 a.m. Saturday a Columbia officer saw the Impala and stopped the vehicle, Holbrook said.

The crime shook Columbia, the state capital where the University of SC is one of the main economic engines. "Nothing mitigates the pain of the loss of a child but I have full faith & confidence in the men & women of the Columbia Police Department & SLED as they ably investigate this tragedy".

"You guys have to travel together, at night, let's be honest you guys are drinking, leaving the bar or whatever it may be, you get into an Uber, you don't know if it's an Uber, you don't know anything about it", says Seymour Josephson.

Josephson was reported missing by her friends on Friday afternoon and later that day her body was found by turkey hunters more than 65 miles away in a wooded area.

Investigators said they obtained surveillance footage apparently showing Josephson getting into a black Chevy Impala that wasn't being driven by the Uber driver she had contacted but by Nathaniel David Rowland.

Brexit options: Stick close to EU? Crash out? Think again?
Smith's bold statement of unprecedented bad behavior was remarkable not only for what he said - but who said it. Both main parties are preparing for the possibility of a snap election as a way out of the deadlock.

Rowland will be charged with murder and kidnapping, Rowland said.

SC representative Seth Rose in a tweet took to heart the message from Samantha's father Seymour that he is making rideshare safety part of his mission in life. "Don't ever forget her name". Marci added. "He should never be given the right to walk free again for what he did to my daughter, or given the opportunity to hurt anybody else".

Friends and family of Samantha Josephson remembered the 21-year-old as a ball of energy who brightened every room and was ready to head to law school.

Josephson, a college senior, was last seen by friends at a bar in Columbia early Friday morning. Josephson's boyfriend, Greg Corbishley, spoke about Josephson at the vigil.

"Our hearts are broken", Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said at a weekend news conference, shortly after meeting Josephson's relatives, who had arrived from New Jersey. "I sit here and cry while looking at the picture and write this". "If there's two of you something less likely will happen". "The last words she said to me over FaceTime on Thursday were that I was her person and she loved me and that she could truly be herself around me".

A GoFundMe page to cover funeral and memorial costs had raised more than $63,000 by Monday evening.
