Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James made a vow to hip-hop star Nipsey Hussle, who passed away earlier this week due to a violent shooting.

In addition to the murder charge, Eric Holder Jr., 29, faces two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. He expected to appear in court later today to enter a plea to the judge.

If convicted on the murder charge, Holder faces up to life in state prison.

A candlelight vigil is being held in San Diego Friday night for slain rapper Nipsey Hussle.

J Roc, who wasn't with Hussle at the time of his shooting death, said in his Instagram post with pictures of him that he was "done with all this [expletive]" and leaving the security business.

Holder has been ordered to return to court on May 10.

Act Party leader David Seymour described it as a "rushed process" that would "deny the public the chance to have their say". Ardern will address the service, which has the theme "We Are One" and will be broadcast on national television.

Holder is also accused of wounding two other men in the incident, which happened outside of a store that the rapper, entrepreneur and philanthropist owned in the Crenshaw neighborhood of South L.A.

Holder was taken into custody on Tuesday following a city-wide manhunt.

Eric Holder, the man charged for the murder of Nipsey Hussle, pleaded not guilty.

Hussle was gunned down outside his Marathon Clothing store Sunday. He ignored the red lights as he raced down Slauson Avenue - the South Los Angeles street that he and Nips were working to uplift. He also wounded two other men.

Hussle's debut studio album, "Victory Lap", was nominated for Best Rap Album at this year's Grammy Awards and his death prompted tributes on social media.
