"As alleged in the indictment, Allison Mack recruited women to join what was purported to be a female mentorship group that was, in fact, created and led by Keith Raniere", United States Attorney Richard P. Donoghue said in a statement after Mack's arrest past year.

Mack is accused of recruiting women to join what she told them was a female mentorship group when, in fact, it was an organization created and led by Nxivm's founder, Keith Raniere, also known within the group as Vanguard. "I am very sorry to my family and to the good people I hurt through my misguided adherence to [Nxivm leader] Keith Raniere's teachings".

Appearing in court today in Brooklyn, Mack said (via Vulture), "I have come to the conclusion that I must take full responsibility for my conduct and that's why I am pleading guilty today". I'm very sorry for the victims of this case. Authorities said the women were branded by a surgical tool with a symbol that resembled Raniere's initials.

540 million Facebook users had their data leaked by app developers
Facebook shut down the database in question after being contacted for a comment on the issue by Bloomberg . Facebook app developers reportedly left millions of user records exposed on the Amazon Cloud servers.

Mack entered her plea to racketeering charges on Monday, shortly before federal jury selection was scheduled to start in Brooklyn federal court. The charges stem from her alleged role in a reported sex slave ring within Albany, New York-based NXIVM.

Mack, who played Superman's friend Chloe Sullivan on The CW TV series, admitted to keeping a slave and instructing women "to perform services for me". A fifth defendant, the Seagram liquor fortune heiress Clare Bronfman, likely will be the only one besides Raniere to go to trial, Bronfman's attorney Mark Geragos has said in court, CBS News reports. All have pleaded not guilty and denied any wrongdoing, though after three guilty pleas, we're not sure what kind of legs they have to stand on. "Determining the truth is extremely important to me, and I can say firmly that neither NXIVM nor Keith have abused or coerced anyone". She has pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released last July on $100-million bail.

Raniere was arrested on sex trafficking charges in March past year and is being held without bail. She is facing 20 years in prison if convicted on the current charges.
