‘If I were Boeing, would rebrand plane’: Trump on 737 Max crisis

April FrancisApr 16, 2019

The president, who called for all 737 Max planes in the U.S.to be grounded in March, tweeted that he thinks Boeing should fix the plane's image issues by renaming and rebranding it.

Trump took to Twitter in the early hours of this morning to offer his advice to Boeing on how to revive the 737 Max brand.

American explained on its website that not all flights previously scheduled on a Max would be cancelled, because the airline plans to substitute other aircraft for some flights. The first crash occurred through the Lion Air Flight 610 on October 29, and the second happened via an Ethiopian Airlines Flight on March 10.

Despite being Boeing's best-selling plane ever, the 737 Max's reputation has collapsed in recent months after two deadly crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia killed a total of 346 people.

He continued, "No product has suffered like this one". This comes just days after American Airlines announced the cancellation of all their Boeing 737 MAX flights through to June 5th.

Authorities said the women were branded by a surgical tool with a symbol that resembled Raniere's initials. The charges stem from her alleged role in a reported sex slave ring within Albany, New York-based NXIVM.

The plane's grounding has also threatened the US summer travel season, with some airlines removing the 737 from their schedules through August and canceling a number of scheduled flights. But again, what the hell do I know?' The FAA have convened a meeting on April 12 with safety representatives of the three US -based airlines that have the Boeing 737 MAX in their fleets, as well as the pilot unions for those airlines.

The airplane company extended flight cancellations through August 19 because the jets remain grounded, according to a report from CNBC.

Boeing is developing new software for the jet's anti-stall system, which has come under scrutiny since the crashes.

"This has without a doubt damaged Boeing's reputation and we foresee a dent to the (Boeing) brand's value at over $12 billion", Chief Executive David Haigh said by email when asked about Trump's comments. "People will look at it and know that it's the Boeing 737 MAX under a different name", he said.
