Burger King may sell burger across USA this Season

This decision could have significant implications for the environment and our health, as producing meat requires a lot of water and land and emits tons of fossil fuel emissions. Their plant-based patty, from the startup company Impossible Foods, is meant to closely mimic Burger King's regular Whopper. Red Robin offers the Impossible burger at all locations, Carl's Jr. has Beyond Meat on the menu, and Del Taco uses vegan crumbles as well. This move by Burger King represents the rapidly growing popularity and profitability of the meatless burger movement.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month - which is celebrated in May - Burger King is now offering Real Meals, a collection of meals for all of your moods.

President of Burger King North America, Chris Finazzo says they want to, "give somebody who wants to eat a burger every day, but doesn't necessarily want to eat beef everyday, permission to come into the restaurants more frequently".

According to a CNN Business article, the global market for meat substitutes will grow to $6.4 billion by 2023.

The sandwich is made out of a plant-based beans from Impossible Foods, a Redwood City, Calif. -based start up. "It's as juicy, craveable and delicious as the original", the company said in a statement.
